The 2015 Thames Valley International Technology Conference, a Thames Valley Chamber of Commerce event, hosted and supported by Microsoft, was the latest to feature the AroundThen business networking app, facilitating easier connections between delegates.
The Conference is a flagship event for the Thames Valley business community, showcasing the latest developments by innovative homegrown and international technology businesses with over 200 delegates and over 20 high profile speakers from companies including Dell, Vodafone, KPMG and Microsoft.
Thames Valley Chamber commits to providing unparalleled networking opportunities to businesses within the region, and offering the AroundThen app at its conference was an obvious choice to help enhance networking.
Using a combination of the app’s Bluetooth proximity functionality and the ‘check-in’ feature, delegates were easily able to identify and link up with potential business contacts nearby, as well as share the event across their LinkedIn Networks.
With the app available on iOS, Android and Windows, delegates were able to advantage of the app’s unique and innovative features. In addition, using iBeacons, delegates were sent a welcome notification on arrival with a conference branded splash screen showing the agenda.
Paul Britton, Head of Inward Investment, Thames Valley Chamber said, “We wanted to offer our delegates the chance to use this leading edge technology, and were delighted with the support that the AroundThen team gave us before and during the conference. Delegates were pro-actively downloading the app and it helped to facilitate many new business connections. It was well-received and we look forward to working again with AroundThen.”
Ken Mawbey, AroundThen CEO commented, “The team at the Chamber were great to work with and did a superb job promoting the app in advance of the conference and during the event itself. Next time we’ll be using more advanced functionality including the ability to message the moderator directly which will be a great feature for the organisers, as well as enhancing the event experience for the delegates themselves.”
