A collaboration between AroundThen, the proximity based business networking app and Blue Sense Networks, providers of proximity engagement solutions, is showcasing how iBeacons are being used to send personalised notifications to Bluetooth enabled devices within the GROW Innovation Hub, at Green Park, Reading.
Visitors to the Innovation Hub who have the iOS AroundThen app will receive iBeacon notifications which can be tailored to a specific event, highlighting the considerable opportunities which this leading-edge technology can offer. Users can also be directed to branded customisable content, such as agendas, conference plans or similar.
The iBeacon functionality is powered by ProximitySense, the Blue Sense Networks’ cloud based proximity engagement platform.
Vladimir Petrov, Blue Sense Networks CEO describes the collaboration. "Working together with AroundThen has been instrumental in driving feature development for ProximitySense and helping perfect our technology for use in real life scenarios. AroundThen has become a shining example of a successful iBeacon use case implementation for business networking at events and conferences.“
The AroundThen app is also available on Android and Windows Phone, allowing nearby users to view and connect with each other on LinkedIn, check-in at their location and share across their LinkedIn networks, providing additional event promotion and enhanced networking.
Ken Mawbey, AroundThen CEO commented: “Integrating Beacons with AroundThen provides an interactive user experience and our collaboration with Blue Sense Networks is significant in helping to realise the potential of iBeacon technology. AroundThen facilitates networking and collaboration both in and out of the office, and integrating with iBeacons creates a powerful, must-have combination for corporate enterprises, co-working spaces and event organisers.”
Louize Clarke, co-founder of GROW and ConnectTVT, the platform aimed at putting the Thames Valley back on the tech cluster map comments, “Collaborations like this are what GROW is all about.
